One person has been left with a fractured eye socket after a serious assault at a racecourse earlier this month, and police have arrested three men in connection with the incident.

North Yorkshire Police say that three men have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after the assault at Thirsk Racecourse.

At least four people were assaulted during the incident, which involved several parties, and took place at about 6.45pm on Saturday, May 18.

One of the victims was taken to hospital with a fractured eye socket. He has since been discharged.

Police say they have launched an investigation into the incident, with officers confirming that three men, aged between 19 and 21, have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and released under investigation while enquiries continue.

As part of their investigation, detectives ask anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to get in touch.
