Two County Durham officers were in London to serve in the Coronation ceremony yesterday,

Sergeant Dixon was in London yesterday as one of two Durham Police officers selected to form the ceremonial route lining duties at King Charles' Coronation on Saturday (May 7).

Alongside this officer, she joined 29,000 other members of police from across the UK at the event.

The officers were deployed to London and Windsor to ensure the safety of those attending the event.

A Durham Police spokesperson said: "We are proud to have played our part in policing the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty the Queen.

"Sergeant 9098 Dixon was one of the two chosen officers from Durham Constabulary to form the ceremonial route lining duties during today’s Coronation.

"She joined 29,000 other police officers from across the UK who have been deployed to London and Windsor to ensure the safety of all those attending the event."

Durham Police also offered their congratulations to King Charles and Queen Camilla.
