The best and worst surgeries in North Yorkshire have been revealed after patients had their say in a national survey – here’s the results.
GPs across the country have been rated following the Independent GP Patient Survey, which saw patients answer questions based on their experience.
The survey asked patients questions based on their experience at their last appointed.
Questions ranged from whether a patient had a good overall experience to how helpful the receptionist was.
One GP in North Yorkshire received just a 56 percent for good overall experience after the survey, while another received a 99%.
Which surgery was the worst in North Yorkshire?
The worst GP surgery in North Yorkshire has been revealed as Central Healthcare, part of Scarborough Core Primary Care Network and based in Scarborough, with just 56 percent of patients having a “good overall experience.”

Just 34 percent of patients found it easy to get through on the phone, however a respectable 76 percent found the receptionist helpful.
68 percent of patients found that their mental health needs were recognised and understood.
However, only 39 percent of appointments were found to have been remote, but just 61 percent were satisfied with the appointment offered.
Just 13 percent of patients could usually see their preferred GP and 42 percent had a good experience making an appointment.
Coming close behind is Castle Health Centre, also based in Scarborough and part of Scarborough Core Primary Care Network with 65 percent of patients having a “good overall experience.”
63 percent of appointments were also remote with just 62 percent finding they were satisfied with the appointment offered.
Which surgery was the best in North Yorkshire?
Terrington Surgery is the best in North Yorkshire with a fantastic 99 percent of patients having a “good overall experience”.
The surgery, which is part of South Hambleton and Ryedale Primary Care Network and is based in Terrington, has between 98-99 percentages across the board.
Just 30 percent of appointments were remote and 99 percent of patients felt their needs were met in the last appointment, had confidence and trust in healthcare professionals, and found their GP listened to them.
Coming in close second was Staithes Surgery with 98 percent of patients of having a good experience.
The surgery, which is part of Whitby Coast and Moors PCN and based in Staithes, received a number of 99 percentages as well.
