A DOG walker was grabbed and pulled at by an unknown man whilst out walking in a field in Thornaby.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident that took place in the Thorntree Road/Pacific Drive area of the town at around 5.45pm on Saturday, October 2.

Cleveland Police say the lady was on her own on a field when she was approached by an unknown man who engaged her in conversation.

He then grabbed her, pulled at her clothing and tried to pull her away.

The brave lady hit him and ran off and the man walked away.

A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: "The suspect is described as white, around 40-years-old, with a shaved head with a small amount of hair at the sides.

"He is at least 6 feet tall, of a broad build and was wearing all black.

"He had a small black and white dog with him."
