RESCUE centre staff are appealing for a terminally ill terrier to be given a loving home in the twilight of her life.
Lucky the terrier has terminal cancer and her friends at the Jerry Green Dog Rescue centre in Thirsk are hoping she can spend the rest of her days in a forever home.
Lucky, ten, was diagnosed after arriving at the centre with a lump on her head and the vet has said that she could live for another three years but it is impossible to say.
Fundraising manager, Claire Ryan, said “We always search for that perfect forever home for our rescue dogs, even when forever may not be that long.”
Deputy centre manager, Miranda Sabey, added: “Unfortunately Lucky’s forever may not be that long, she came into Jerry Green Dog Rescue with an undiagnosed lump on her head which sadly, after ongoing support from our vets has been diagnosed as cancer.
"There is no cure for Lucky’s condition but due to her happy nature and the fact that she is not in pain, we have made the decision to go ahead and find that perfect companion for this special lady so that she can experience the love and care she deserves until the time comes for her goodbye.” To enquire about rehoming Lucky, call 01845-567456.
