SEVEN dogs are on the lookout for love this Valentine's Day as their canine carers hope to find them the perfect companion.

Dogs Trust Darlington staff are keen to rehome a number of four-legged residents at the Sadberge site who have been in the charity's care for at least four months.

Hoping to find a special someone is seven-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Bruno, who has been at the centre for more than a year after almost finding a new home last Valentine's Day.

Two-year-old Shih Tzu Charlie is another character looking for love. He would prefer an adult-only home with no other pets.

George, the six-year-old Jack Russell Terrier would also prefer the house to himself. His carers describe him as every bit the gentleman with good manners.

Fellow Jack Russell Terrier, Kai, also six, prefers the quiet life with few visitors and a cosy bed. His personality shines through with those who get to know him.

Indie the three-year-old lurcher is also a sensitive soul who could do with a boost of confidence from his new family.

Bouncy and affectionate one-year-old lurcher Roxy would be suited to a home with children over 11 who she could play with all day in the garden.

And clever boy Jack, the two-year-old lurcher, loves to spend time with humans and likes to show off lots of tricks.
