LITTER picking, street cleaning, weed clearing and graffiti and fly-tipping removal were at the centre of community clean-up day in Thornaby.
The day was focused on more than a dozen streets around the Westbury Street and Mansfield Avenue area.
Organised by Stockton Borough Council and partners, it saw about 50 people come together to lend a hand. Thirteen, North Star, Cleveland Fire Brigade, Cleveland Police and a range of local voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, including Catalyst, were also involved.
Councillor Mike Smith, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, said: “Community clean-ups are a great way of bringing people together."
