A SCHOOLGIRL from North Yorkshire has raised £175 for charity after selling home-made bath bombs to her neighbours and friends.
Laura Bauwens, 12, from Pickhill, near Thirsk, has now raised a total of £425 for Cancer Research UK in memory of her grandmother, Jean Grove, who died six years ago at the age of 69.
Laura, a pupil at Thirsk School and Sixth Form College, stocked up on ingredients, including lavender and jasmine oil, and made the bath treats herself.
She has previously sold home-made cards and cakes to raise funds.
“I’d like the money I raised to go towards finding a cure for cancer,” said Laura, who hopes to organise a sponsored walk or run next.
