A GOLDEN day of information and fun will be on offer in Darlington next month.
The Growing Older Living in Darlington (GOLD) VIP event will be opened by the Mayor of Darlington Councillor Nick Wallis in the Market Square on Friday 7 at 11am and will run until 3pm.
The information event is aimed specifically at those aged 50 years and above, as well as their friends, family, neighbours and carers, and offers the chance to find out about the wide range of services available to support older people across the borough.
There will also be a host of entertainment with performances by the Texas Toe Tappers line-dancing troop, Age UK’s ukulele group, Harlequin Morris Dancers and The Ran Tanners folk band.
Audrey Lax, GOLD chair, said: “This is a great opportunity to come along and browse the information stalls where organisations will be showcasing what’s on offer to older people. It’s a fantastic occasion to find out more about what’s available locally for older people in Darlington.”
