A crash on the A1(M) near Darlington caused hours of tailbacks and left one person in hospital.
A black Ford Focus, red VW Transporter and HGV crashed at 3.10pm on Saturday (June 28), closing the road for about two hours.
It happened on the southbound carriageway near Barton, between junctions 56 and 57 and was said to involve one vehicle crossing the central reservation.
One person was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment and the vehicles were recovered after crash investigators finished their work at the scene.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicles involved prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact us.”

One motorist stuck in tailbacks told the Echo: “Everyone was getting out of their cars. It seemed pretty serious given the amount of blue lights and tailbacks now caused.
"Both sides of the road were closed and it was a complete standstill tailback of traffic.”
