Ignite Nightclub welcomed clubbers for the final time last November, more than three years after taking over the former Keys Nightclub in July 2021.
The closure was confirmed in April, when the former owner said it would not be reopening, and there were no plans to replace it.
And now, the venue has hit the rental market with a price tag of £2,083 per month.
The 6,141sq ft space spans across two floors, located above the Tre Amici restaurant, and “may suit a variety of business uses”, an online listing says.
The first floor is home to a large open plan sales area with several break-out, seating, and bar areas and an outdoor seating terrace.
The second floor boasts toilets, storage, and an office.
As previously reported, the former owner told The Northern Echo in April that they could not comment on future plans.
She said: “We loved working in Darlington and had some amazing nights and met some brilliant people., Hopefully, future projects will bring us back to Darlington!
“Unfortunately I cannot comment as to what the future plans are for the premises. However, I would wish them luck as it’s a beautiful building and was taken well care of.
“Anyone would be lucky to have a business within the property.”
The building, designed and built in 1854, has been a popular haunt for Darlington clubbers for decades.
It was once known as the Filibuster and Firkin before it became a Flares and a Retro nightclub. It was taken over by The Keys in 2014 after a £1m revamp.
The Keys operated as a bar and restaurant downstairs and as the Institute Nightclub upstairs and remained on Skinnergate until February 2019, when the doors were suddenly shut.

Ignite then carried out an eight-month long revamp with new owners at the helm, hosting a grand opening following a year of closures due to the Covid pandemic.
The listing from Carver Commercial states: “The property is situated in the heart of Darlington town centre comprising a former nightclub/bar/leisure premises.
“The property provides well-presented and versatile accommodation over first and second floor that may suit a variety of business uses.”
