More than 400 clubbers got Darlington’s Dolphin Centre "bouncing” at a floor-filling daytime disco.
Craig Chisman, who has been playing since the 1980s, welcomed “half of Darlington” to the launch 'Daytime Disco' on Saturday.
The former Carmel College student wanted to host an event for the town following the surge of daytime partying, where punters can have a blast and be back in bed by 10pm.
The event sold out in just 13 days - and last weekend saw the dancefloor packed out with “like-minded clubbers coming together for an afternoon of music and drinking”.
The leisure centre’s Central Hall was taken over by a huge sound system, LED club lighting, video walls, and special fx for the event.
Craig, who played in the likes of Perrys and Club2K and even had a residency at the legendary Tall Trees (Club M) in Yarm, said the event was a huge success.
He explained: “The event was very well received… and the atmosphere on the night was fantastic.
“We had 300 people through the door in the first 45 minutes, and we were at full 400 capacity by 6.30pm!
“We mixed the music up, playing eighties and party [music] early doors followed by some classic house and dance… the venue was bouncing!”

Craig was joined by DJ Andy Marriott, known for playing at Mardi Gras and Millennium, to deliver the four hours of music at the event, the first of several this year.
Two more dates are now confirmed for 2025, the first on Saturday, August 2, and the other in late September, with the upcoming event featuring DJ KUTA (Mike Lewis) from N-TRANCE, with more club decor, UV, and a huge full colour laser.
