A 'steroid abusing' police officer is facing the sack after he was accused of sharing an inappropriate message with a witness.
Sergeant John Fitzpatrick is also accused of breaching lawful orders relating to a surveillance operation; failing to keep confidential police information safe and secure; and being in possession of and using steroids.
The Cleveland Police officer will face a disciplinary hearing next month when his future with the force will be determined.

If proved the allegations have been assessed by the force to amount to a breach of the standards of professional behaviour relating to confidentiality; discreditable conduct; orders and instructions and duties and responsibilities.
The misconduct hearing, which is listed for several days, is due to start on March 3 in Thornaby.
Members of the public need to register on the force website if they want to attend the hearing.
