A popular Darlington restaurant has been rebranded as a new management team takes over.
Bambudda Asian restaurant, on Gladstone Street, is “marking a new chapter” as it becomes Asianista, a new all-you-can-eat dining concept.
The restaurant is now under new management after being taken over by DHADarlington - with bosses teasing that the revamped venue will offer a modern, fresh take on Pan-Asian cuisine with a “unique dining atmosphere”.
A new post on Facebook said: “Welcome to Asianista – A new chapter in Darlington!
“We’re excited to announce that Asianista has officially taken over Bambudda in Darlington and is now under new management!
“Get ready to experience a fresh take on Pan-Asian cuisine with our modern, all-you-can-eat dining concept - crafted just for you, in your own style.
“From vibrant flavours to a unique dining atmosphere, we’re here to bring you an unforgettable culinary journey. Stay tuned as we redefine dining in Darlington.
“Asianista: Where flavour meets innovation.”
Exact details regarding the new concept remain under wraps.
The Northern Echo understands that the site - which reopened after a refurbishment last month - will be keeping the old Bambudda menu until the new year, with the bring your own booze initiative still in operation.
The news comes just weeks after plans were lodged to sell alcohol at the former Bambudda site under the Asianista name.
As previously reported, Bambudda’s license was removed by Darlington Council earlier this year after its previous owners were accused of people trafficking.

Durham Constabulary and the Home Office raised serious concerns over the management and treatment of staff at the Gladstone Street premises.
At the time, Bambudda and TAO Asian Street Food, located on Blackwellgate, were told they could not sell alcohol but the businesses could remain open.
Darlington Council is yet to decide on the licensing application.
