Police attended the scene of a two vehicle collision between a BMW and Kia at a County Durham crossroads on Monday (January 15) morning. 

Emergency services were called to the A177 near Fishburn at about 10.25am, following reports of a road traffic collision on the stretch of road close to the junctions of Stobb Cross Lane and Harap Road.

The road was partly closed while police attended the incident, which police have since confirmed was between a BMW and a Kia. 

Durham Police have also confirmed that no one was injured during the collision.

After the incident, congestion on the stretch of the A177 was impacted for around 45 minutes.

A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "Police received reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A177 near Fishburn at around 10.25 this morning (January 15).

"The collision involved a blue BMW and a red Kia.

"There were no injuries."
