As Christmas is complete, it might be time to check if there are any changes to bin collection dates across the North East and North Yorkshire over the festive period.

Not knowing when to put your bins out or missing a collection date can leave your bin unusable for weeks.

There will be no bin collections during the period of industrial action (Wednesday 27 December to Saturday 30 December 2023 inclusive).

Residents are advised to reduce their waste as much as possible and recycle responsibly.

Normal collections will resume from Tuesday 2 January.

From this date, please present the bin which is due for collection.

It is hoped that the bin not collected during the strike period will be emptied on its next scheduled collection day.

However, due to the impact of long-term action short of strike, please present your bin from 7.30am, Tuesday to Friday, until it is collected.
