Police have released the shocking footage that shows a drink driver in County Durham narrowly miss a pedestrian before ploughing into the front of a shop.
In the video, which Durham Police are using as a warning to drivers across the region this festive period, the police force has compiled several incidents that show the actions of drink drivers.
The clip, which was taken earlier this year, sees a row of people in the street outside pubs before a car can be seen speeding from a nearby junction.
The car then revs towards a pedestrian, nearly running them down, before hitting the front of a shop.
In other clips, footage of cars on their roofs, cars crashing into bollards and parked cars can be seen.
A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "It’s week three of our drink and drug drive campaign, and we’re releasing further bodycam footage of drivers found behind the wheel and under the influence of alcohol.
