A quintessential 1980s pop icon, is set to warm up the North East with an intimate concert series.

Kim Wilde is scheduled to perform at The Fire Station, Sunderland, on Friday (December 15) and will offer fans acoustic renditions of iconic hits penned by her father Marty Wilde and brother Ricky.

With a record-setting 17 UK Top 40 singles in the 1980s, including her first hit 'Kids in America', she was a key figure in the decade's musical landscape.

Alongside her signature tunes, the star will perform versions of beloved carols and popular festive music to get the audience into the Christmas mood.

Kim has subsequently enjoyed success in an entirely different field after her musical fame.

She discovered a passion for horticulture during her first pregnancy leading her to study at a local college. She has since presented multiple gardening television and radio programmes and penned several books, most aimed at teaching children the joys of gardening.
