A brand new furniture store selling unique and eccentric furniture pieces opens today(September 9) in Darlington - take a sneak peek inside below.

Studio Eleven on Crown Street in Darlington will finally open its doors at 10am becoming the town's newest furniture boutique. 

Customers will have their chance to get their hands on distinctive items including ornaments, patterned mugs and plates as well as wall decorations.

The Northern Echo: Studio Eleven, Darlington.

Owner of Studio Eleven, Zoe Edwards, spoke of her excitement to open the store as she takes on her latest venture.

She said: "I have been painting furniture for years - everyone seems to like it, it's very quirky.

"I did just think that Darlington needed something a bit different."

Inside, the store has an Alice in Wonderland feel, filled with trinkets and shiny ornate pieces that cover the walls and units that leave no corner of the store empty.

For Zoe, the inspiration to craft all of the pieces comes out of the blue.

She said: "I look at a piece of furniture and think of the different ways it could look. 

"I don't know where that imagination comes from - I just make it up as I go along."

Ahead of opening tomorrow, Zoe has said she is less filled with nerves but more excited as customers have been eager to get inside.
