The Wensleydale Show was a roaring success in spite of heavy rain throughout the day.

The traditional Dales show, held at Leyburn, North Yorkshire, had a huge variety of exhibitions available to watch.

All of Yorkshire's finest sheep, horses and produce were on display.

The 2023 Wensleydale show was deluged in torrential rain and crowds had to seek shelter in the variety of tents.

The 109th show had classes for sheep dogs, horses, livestock, handicraft and horticulture.

Rishi Sunak was pictured enjoying the event.

A spokesperson said: "The Show featured an extensive range of competitive classes including showcasing the very best of local livestock, horticulture and handicraft. 

"Fun, educational entertaining attractions could be witnessed in and around the main ring.

"Local interest displays such as stone walling and beautiful Wensleydale Sheep took place throughout the day.

"For keen shoppers there were many trade stands offering a variety of products and produce to peruse while listening to Leyburn Band."
