Music fans heading to Hardwick Hall this weekend will be making their final preparations for the festival taking place this weekend.

Hardwick Festival returns from Friday to Sunday (August 18-20) for the eleventh time with what’s promised to be one of the best line-ups yet.

Headliners include The Kooks, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Scouting for Girls and Mel C.

The event is also celebrating local talent with the likes of Andrew Cushin, Liam Fender – brother to Sam, Tom A Smith, The Pale White and The Redroom among the North East artists taking to the stage.

While some events earlier this summer basked in glorious sunshine including Beyonce's gig in Sunderland, more recent outdoor events have suffered from the weather.

James’ gig in Darlington was a rainy affair earlier this month while Loosefest in Newcastle was cancelled due to the weather the same weekend.

Inclement weather hit Hardwick Festival last year with many festivalgoers donning their ponchos and wellies to battle the rain and mud.

Organisers say the event will go ahead whatever the weather and have told attendees to prepare for poor conditions just in case.

There will be some covered areas available on site, but the event is primarily outdoors.
