Music fans are in for a treat this weekend as Hardwick Festival returns with a host of big-name headliners.

Back for the 11th time, the County Durham festival is now running for three days with acts taking to the stage from Friday through to Sunday (August 18-20).

Organisers have promised one of the biggest line-ups to date with headliners including The Kooks, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Scouting for Girls and Mel C.

For those attending bosses have put on a host of food and drink vendors, while rules for bringing refreshments into the venue have been clarified.

Special rules are also in place for anyone bringing a bag to the event.

Can I bring a bag?

Only small bags, up to the size of a piece of A4 paper, will be allowed in and these will be searched on entry.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Festivalgoers are not allowed to take their own food or drink into the venue and bosses say security stewards will be confiscating any bags of food or drink, cooler boxes or picnic baskets at the entrance.

Can I bring alcohol into the event?

While some attendees may be up for a boozy weekend, they will not be able to take their own alcohol into the festival. Only sealed plastic bottles of water, up to 500ml in size, will be allowed in.

An empty reusable plastic bottle can be taken on-site with refill points available.

Can I take chairs or tents to the stage?

The event is fully standing and people will not be able to take chairs, tents, gazebos or windbreaks into the arenas. A rug to sit on is allowed.
