Adrenaline junkies will have the opportunity to see a North East quayside like never before as a zip wire off the Tyne Bridge is set to return in August.

Those brave enough to take on the thrilling ride will fly from the Gateshead side of the Tyne Bridge down onto the Newcastle Quayside, near the Millenium Bridge.

The exciting opportunity is returning to the Tyne for three weekends only.

Those interested can strap in and take a ride over the river on the last two weekends of August - Friday 18 and Saturday 19, Friday 25 and Saturday 26.

There will be another chance to experience the zipline on Friday, September 1 and Saturday, September 2.

Tickets are still available for the thrilling activity, costing just £35 between 9am and 10am, or £40 later in the day. The wire will be in place until 6pm. They can be booked through the 'Jelly Legs' website.

The ride will go from the world-famous Tyne Bridge to the Newcastle Quayside near the law courts.

The iconic bridge has hosted zip-wire riders in the past including in 2012 when Bear Grylls famously zip-lined off the iconic bridge carrying the Olympic torch, during the relay ahead of the London Olympic Games.
