A sheep had to be euthanised after being found in a field with serious injuries after apparently being dumped from a vehicle.

Police are appealing for information after the sheep was discovered in a field in the Norton area of Stockton.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for information after a sheep had to be euthanised after being found with severe injuries.

at around 9:30am on Wednesday (July 26), the injured ewe was located by a member of the public on the green belt area between Ida Street and Waterford Road, in Norton.

"The sheep had severe injuries which would have prevented it from walking.

"Tyre marks were found leading to and from the footpath accessing the grassed area. It is believed that the ewe had been dumped on the grassed area from a vehicle."

The ewe was taken to the vet where it was decided that to prevent further suffering it would be euthanised.
