ONE of the biggest British groups of the 1980s have included a North East date in their first UK tour in more than 40 years.

Hot on the heels of their anniversary shows in London and Oxford in May this year - which sold out in less than 20 minutes - Haircut 100 will be be taking to the road.

Haircut 100% Live is a 15 date UK tour throughout October and November. The second date of the tour will be at NX Newcastle, on October 12

It is 40 years since Pelican West, the band's debut album, which spawned several hit singles such as Fantastic Day, Love Plus One and Favourite Shirts.

The band will be playing the whole of that album, plus a couple of tracks from their follow-up albun and some new material.

The tour follows a successful sell-out show at the Shepherd's Bush Empire for the 40th anniversary of Pelican West.

Lead singer Nick Heyward said: "We are coming back with a tour to beat all tours this autumn, and we can't wait.

"All the hits that you love and new tracks that we are bursting to share with you. See you all there for the biggest tour that Haircut 100 have ever undertaken."
