Police have released CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to in connection with the alleged theft of £6,000 of phones from a North East shop.

Police are appealing for more information following the alleged theft of iPhones at a Tesco in Hartlepool at 3,30pm on Tuesday (May 2).

Cleveland Police said they received a report of three people entering the store on Belle Vue Way. They were reported to have left the store without paying for six new phones.

Police have urged anyone who recognises them to contact officers, to help with their enquiries.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Officers are releasing CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to in connection with a theft from a shop in Hartlepool.

"Police received a report that three people entered Tesco on Belle Vue Way in Hartlepool on Tuesday 2nd May at around 3.30pm and took six new iPhones that were worth almost £6,000.

"It was reported that the suspects then left the store without payment.

"Officers are appealing for the three men shown in the images below to come forward as they may be able to assist with enquiries."

Anyone with information on the incident or anyone who recognises any of the people in the CCTV images is urged to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 083418.
