A fast food giant is offering a 1,000 free burgers to customers at their branch in a major North East shopping centre to celebrate its anniversary.

Burger King in MetrOasis, in Gateshead, is offering 1,000 free Chicken and Vegan Royales today (March 15) to celebrate their three-month anniversary.

Lucky locals who have the Burger King app will be able to get their hands on the burgers on a first-come-first-served basis at the Metrocentre branch.

Meanwhile, those unable to grab a free bite will be able to enjoy countless value offers through the new ‘Your Burger King’ loyalty programme.

All customers that register will automatically be awarded 200 points – which Burger King have said is enough to claim a Cheeseburger, or Fries without needing to spend a penny.

The chain have said the Royales not claimed from the total amount will not be redeemable the next day.

A Burger King spokesperson said: "It’s a good day for burger lovers, as Burger King Gateshead will celebrate its 3-month anniversary with a tasty giveaway offering lucy locals 1,000 free Chicken Royales or Vegan Royales for one day only.

"Burger King lovers will have to be quick if they want to get their hands on the free treat.

"The deal is first-come-first-served, and available exclusively to Burger King app users on 15th March 2023 only at Burger King MetrOasis, Intu Metrocentre, Gateshead, NE11 9ZG."

Speaking on the restaurant's opening in December, Alasdair Murdoch, CEO of Burger King UK, said: “We know the people of GATESHEAD love the great-tasting food of Burger King, so we’ve listened to their requests and are very excited to bring all their favourites to their neighbourhood. Our home – of the Whopper! – is their home.”
