The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for ice this morning as some areas of the North East saw snow yesterday afternoon.

With people in Darlington waking up to a hard frost, the public is being urged to take care when travelling as the ice can be dangerous on the roads.

Rain is predicted for later this afternoon which can worsen conditions for motorists and pedestrians.
