A driver in his 80s has been left in critical condition in hospital after a two-car collision near Stockton.
Emergency services were called to Drover's Lane in Redmarshall at around 8am on Friday (November 4) following reports of a serious collision on the stretch of road.
The road was closed for several hours by officers from Cleveland Police to allow paramedics to work at the scene.

Following the serious incident, Cleveland Police has now issued more details about the collision - which saw a man in his 80s rushed to hospital with serious head injuries.
He is currently in critical condition.
The police force is appealing for more information about the crash, and has called on motorists and people in the area at the time to provide them with details.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses or drivers with dashcam after a collision earlier today (8am on Friday 4th November) on Drover’s Lane, Redmarshall.
"It involved a Citroen Berlingo and a Land Rover Discovery. One of the drivers, a man in his 80s, sustained serious head injuries and was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he is in critical condition.
"Anyone with information, or any driver who may have captured the incident on dashcam, is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number, quoting ref 199278."
