A motorist had to be cut out of his vehicle after crashing on the A66 in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, October 4).
Emergency services including the police, fire service and paramedics were called to the incident at around 4.18am on the A66 westbound junction with Church Lane in Middlesbrough.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "A male driver was cut from a Vauxhall Astra by fire brigade colleagues and was checked by paramedics.
"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."
The North East Ambulance Service confirmed they sent two specialist paramedics to the scene and took one patient to the James Cook University Hospital for further treatment.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and the A66 westbound was closed to enable emergency services to work at the scene.
