Poundland staff have embarked on a charity walk calling in at stores across the North East to raise thousands for good causes.
Northumberland staff have already walked from Berwick to Washington and the next stage of the 'When 2 becomes 1' walk started from the Poundland store in Peterlee.
A group of staff set off from the Peterlee shop at around 8am on Wednesday to walk the eight-miles the Hartlepool Poundland store.
From there, Hartlepool staff will then walk another eight miles to the store in Billingham.
The walk then continues across four days and will see colleagues walk between Poundland stores in a relay fashion taking in locations including Middlesbrough, Stockton, Catterick, Darlington, Bishop Auckland, Durham and Consett before finishing in Washington.

Only one Poundland staff member, Catterick store supervisor Samantha Egan, is covering the whole walk which covers 117 miles in total from Peterlee to Washington.
Her efforts alone have raised £2,000 for the charitable Poundland Foundation and she is being well-supported by her Catterick colleagues who are holding various fundraising initiatives in-store this week.
Fellow Catterick Poundland supervisor Michelle Leyman said: "I think it's amazing that everybody has come together to support Sam.
"The local community is purchasing things to help fundraise and doing the tombola in-store.
"I just think it's absolutely amazing that Sam is doing the whole walk – her little feet are going to be so sore!”
All funds raised from the walk will go to the Poundland Foundation which supports good causes and is partnered with the children’s charities Make a Wish, Tommy’s and Whizz Kids.
