A person was treated at the scene of a fire in Stockton yesterday evening (Sunday, July 24).

The incident occurred on Dovecote Street in the town shortly before 7pm.

Two fire engines were dispatched to the address where a shed was on fire.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police told The Northern Echo they did not attend the scene.

A spokesperson from Cleveland Fire Brigade said: “We were called to an incident on 24/07/2022 at 18:56 on Dovecot Street in Stockton.

"Two fire engines in attendance from Stockton. 1 shed well alight, spread to property. Two hose reels used. 100 per cent fire damage to shed and fence.

“Damage to side of property. Crews administered oxygen to casualty and handed over to NEAS, treated at scene.

"We are undergoing investigations as per our usual procedure. We left the scene at 19:55.”

A spoksperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 7.06pm last night to reports of a house fire at a private address on Dovecot Street, Stockton-on-Tees.

"We dispatched one specialist paramedic, and treated and discharged one patient on the scene.”
