A woman from County Durham appeared in court after taking part in a gathering of more than six people during the heigh of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sara Howourth, 40, of Hunter Avenue, Ushaw Moor in County Durham had her case heard in County Durham and Darlington Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 23.

She was charged after being caught participating in a gathering of more than six people in April 2021.

Howourth pleaded guilty and was fined £100 for the offence.

She was also made to pay £34 to victim services, and £110 to Crown Prosecution Service.
