EMERGENCY services are dealing with a serious house fire in North Yorkshire.

The fire broke out at a home in Selby just after 5am on Sunday.

North Yorkshire Police says the fire in Camblesforth was brought under control at about 7.30am.

Fire crews are still at the scene to carry out damping down work and ensuring it is safe.

Firefighters from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue had back-up from Humberside Fire and Rescue and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Investigations will commence once the scene is safe.”

Anyone with information which could help the investigation is asked to call 101, press option 1 and ask for the Force Control Room. The reference is NYP-19062022-0081.
