Flowers, balloons, pictures and other tributes have been left at the scene of a crash which killed a 25-year-old woman.

Natalie Marshall died after the car she was driving left the road and collided with a tree near Darlington on Friday.

Heartbroken friends and family have left tributes to the young woman at the scene of the crash on the A167.

Her family paid tribute to her a loved daughter, sister, auntie and friend, who would ‘light up the room’.

Touching tributes left at the scene described Natalie as the "life and soul of the party."

Another said: "Our hearts are shattered into pieces."

And another said: "You could light up any room you walked into."

Many wellwishers have also been sending condolences to Natalie's friends and families.

Police were called at about 3.15am on Friday after a Mercedes C Class vehicle left the road and collided with a tree near Coatham Munderville, on the outskirts of Darlington.

Natalie was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

In a tribute released today, her family said: “Natalie was a very well-loved daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. We can’t put into words how we all feel about the loss of the biggest and strongest personality we knew.

“Natalie would light up the room as soon as she walked in, she was the most hard working and selfless young woman.

“We are well and truly heartbroken by this tragedy. I know for sure she has a place in many people’s hearts.”

A man in his twenties, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, with serious injuries.

He remains there for further treatment.

Collison investigators would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have any dashcam footage of the vehicle shortly before the collision.

Anyone who can help is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 57 of June 17.
