A HUGE stage has been erected ahead of The Killers concert in Middesbrough tonight.

The band are set to play at the Riverside Stadium – two years after the gig was first scheduled to take place.

A huge stage has been put up in the stadium ahead of the concert, with fans promised a spectacular show from the US band.

The Killers are on their Imploding the Mirage tour and are being supported tonight by the Manic Street Preachers.

Thousands of fans are expected to descend on Middlesbrough tonight for the long-awaited date.

A fan village has been set up outside the stadium to get concert-goers in the mood for the main event.

Final preparations are underway ahead of tonight.

Trucks and buses have been seen arriving at the stadium in recent days and the stage construction can now be seen topping the height of the West stand at the ground.

The Killers will be supported by Manic Street Preachers. The fan village opens at 2.30pm, doors at 5.30pm with the Manics taking to the stage at 7pm.

The Killers are expected to be on stage at 8.45pm.
