SHOPPERS will not have much longer to wait to stock up on luxury goods and a drink at the swanky new champagne bar as Metrocentre's Harrods takes a step further.

The luxury retailer is ramping up work on the highly anticipated, H Beauty store which will be the first in the North East.

This week, signs and branding were spotted going up as the ground floor entrance was unveiled for the first time.

Donning a gold appearance, complete with its very own mirror, the neon purple H Beauty logo was lit up.

The entrance takes a similar look to the venue when it was home to the department store, House of Fraser for decades.

So far, Harrods bosses have remained tight-lipped on an exact opening date.

However, basic details including what customers can expect and what services will be on offer have been released.

From a beauty hall stocking luxury makeup to a dedicated champagne bar, Harrods H Beauty is set to serve up a similar offering to the firm's sites elsewhere in the UK.

Annalise Fard, Director of Home and Beauty at Harrods, previously said other openings of the brand had seen huge success as people demand "exceptional" shopping experiences.

She said: “The incredible response we have had to our first two H beauty store openings not only reflects the ongoing demand for exceptional, high quality retail experiences outside of London, but also the passion for beauty that exists amongst the customers we serve in these regions.”
