She has been praised by Gramophone Magazine for “the maturity and sophistication of her thoughtful interpretations” which “would be the pride of any pianist twice her age”.

Born in Hannover in 1995, Elisabeth is quickly establishing herself as one of the most exciting and versatile musicians of her generation.

As a member of the BBC New Generation Artist Scheme, she has made many solo, chamber and concerto engagements across the UK.

In a new partnership between this scheme and the Hallé Orchestra, she was recently announced as recipient of the Terence Judd-Hallé Award, given to an NGA graduate considered to be on the cusp of a major international career.

In August, she made her debut at the BBC Proms, performing Mozart with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra as well as making her debut appearance at the Edinburgh International Festival.

Greg Johnson, society chairman, described her engagement as “a coup”, adding: “We are very fortunate to have Elisabeth open her UK tour in the town and her recital brings yet another prominent young pianist here, furthering the aim of bringing the best of young classical piano talent to the attention of our enthusiastic audiences.

“Her programme of works by Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Ravel and Prokofiev is very varied and will showcase why Elisabeth is captivating audiences throughout Europe.”

The recital takes place in Central Hall, the Dolphin Centre, at 3pm on Sunday, November 14. Full details of the programme are available at www.dpiano.co.uk. Tickets can be purchased through the website or at the door on the day, price £15, with under 25s free.
