A MAN is due in court charged with disturbing dolphins off the North Yorkshire coast earlier this year.
The 44-year-old man has been charged with intentionally or recklessly disturbing dolphins off the Scarborough coast on July 9 of this year.
It is an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
The man is due to appear at Scarborough Magistrates Court on the morning of September 27.
* Schedule 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act (WCA) 1981 lists a large number of animals which are protected under Section 9 .
It includes: all species of bat, species of dolphin, amphibians including all species of newt, species of frog and toad, reptiles, porpoise, otter and many species of insects.
