THE 'best' place to live on Teesside has been revealed - with two areas battling to be named top.

Earlier this week, The Northern Echo ran an interactive poll asking people to vote for where they thought was the best area to live.

We had more than 700 people cast their vote as we asked for your answers over a period of 72 hours to give every area a fair chance.

We broke the poll into the four parts of Teesside - Stockton, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Redcar & Cleveland.

And here's what you choose (and remember, it's only for fun!)

Out of the areas, Stockton was named by readers as Teesside's best place to live with 37 per cent of the vote - based on 270 people.

This was closely followed by Redcar and Cleveland which just missed out to Stockton by a few percent, with 31 per cent voting for the area - based on 226 votes.

Next, Middlesbrough was named third-best with 24 per cent of people - 173 votes - voting for the town.

While Hartlepool only managed to attract 9 per cent of the poll, with 65 people saying the coastal town was best.

The latest poll comes as The Northern Echo has throughout the month been asking people for their best places to live in County Durham and Darlington.
