A VILLAGER has raised a total of £1,150 for an air ambulance charity during the lockdowns.

Kellie Harvey, 24, who lives in Pickhill, near Thirsk, started her fundraising campaign during the first lockdown last spring painting pebbles for her neighbours – in return for a donation. She also organised street bingo sessions last summer.

More recently, Ms Harvey, a sales associate and claims handler for an insurance company, held an online raffle with nearly 50 prizes.

The raffle, which was watched by about 40 people on Facebook, raised £337 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

“I know a lot of people are finding this lockdown difficult and I wanted to do something nice and sociable to cheer them up on a Saturday evening,” said Ms Harvey.

“People were very generous donating prizes and buying tickets. On the evening everyone was incredibly positive. It was like a night out.”

Ms Harvey has organised a second online raffle for February 27 at 7pm – join by going to her Facebook Pebble Project and Community page.
