A NORTH-EAST castle famous for starring as Hogwarts in two Harry Potter films, is expecting a bumper year in 2021 and is hoping to recruit 130 eager candidates to perform a range of exciting roles.

From trainee wizards, historical interpreters and costumed tour guides, to till operators, ticketing assistants, cleaners and porters, Alnwick Castle’s doors are open for people with many different skills – as long as you are enthusiastic, keen to learn and friendly.

The details and exact roles will be advertised on the recruitment page of Alnwick Castle website, https://www.alnwickcastle.com/jobs from today (January 1) until January 31.

Just as importantly – as well as seasonal roles for aspiring actors and performers – there will be many more crucial operational vacancies advertised, including retail and admin assistants, food and kitchen assistants, cleaners, admissions staff, and porters.

The castle will re-open for the 2021 season on Friday, March 26 and prior to this date, all new staff will be trained and in place to ensure visitors have the best time ever. The castle will close for 2021 on Sunday, October 24.

There are many exciting activities for all the family planned at Alnwick Castle next year including magical Harry Potter-themed events, the fearsome Dragon Quest, broomstick training and a magnificent, new Lions of the North exhibition.

The castle regularly recruits people from across the North-East.

Susan Richardson, HR Manager at Alnwick Castle says: “We are getting ready to open our seasonal recruitment for next year and look forward to hiring the seasonal team.

“If you want to come and work at Alnwick Castle during the 2021 season, we are looking for enthusiastic, positive minded, team players, who can go that extra mile to help ensure our visitors have a great day out.

“We also look forward to welcoming back our returning staff, as they play a key part in the success of the programme.”

Alnwick Castle’s new seasonal roles for 2021 will be advertised on the Alnwick Castle website, in the local press and on social media.
