A 29-year-old man has been charged with ten offences following a report that a man was allegedly seen driving a Seat Ibiza dangerously in the Redcar area.
Officers received a report that a man was driving a silver Seat Ibiza dangerously in the area.
Officers attended the scene and the driver of the vehicle reportedly rammed into a police vehicle several times and then assaulted a police officer whilst he was being arrested.
Carl Wild of Coniston Road in Skelton has been remanded in custody to appear at court at a later date.
He has been charged with:
- Assaulting an emergency worker
- Two counts of dangerous driving
- Driving whilst not wearing a seatbelt
- Two counts of driving whilst disqualified
- Failing to stop a vehicle when required to by a constable or traffic warden
- Possessing an offensive weapon in a public place
- Two counts of driving without insurance
The incidents occurred on Tuesday morning (September 22).
