A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of seven offences in Redcar.
A man aged 29 has been arrested on suspicion of seven offences following an incident in Redcar yesterday morning, (Tuesday, September 22).
Officers received a report that a man was reportedly driving a silver Seat Ibiza dangerously in the area.
Officers attended the scene and the driver of the vehicle reportedly rammed into a police vehicle several times and then assaulted a police officer whilst he was being arrested.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of:
• Driving without seatbelt
• Driving without insurance
• Possessing an offensive weapon in a public place
• Assault with intent to resist arrest
• Driving dangerously
• Driving whilst disqualified
• Driving under the influence of drugs
Police searched the vehicle following the arrest and a weapon was recovered from the car.
The man currently remains in custody whilst enquiries continue.
