ACTOR Robin Askwith has sent a message of support to a North-East theatre which has had to postpone its pantomime this year.

Darlington Hippodrome has announced its production of Cinderella will not be taking place this Christmas, due to uncertainly over social distancing rules.

It will now be performed in 2021 instead.

He appeared in pantomime at the Hippodrome as evil villain Abanazar in Aladdin two years ago.

"It's no secret that Darlington is one of my favourite venues and I'm awash with some great supporters and friends there."
