THE family of a 22-year-old found dead in Hartlepool on Monday have paid tribute to the "protective" and "loved" man.

Ryan Magee, 22, was found in an area next to Wiltshire Way in Hartlepool on Monday, May 18. 

Paying tribute, his family said: “Ryan was a loved son and brother, grandson and nephew. We are devastated by his death.

“Ryan was the eldest in the family and the only boy. He was always protective towards his sisters and mum and known for being cheeky. Sleep tight Ryan now you’re reunited with little nana, granda and Michael.

“We are heartbroken thinking about what has happened to him and would appeal to anyone with any information to contact police.”

Police are appealing for information and carrying out enquiries into the circumstances surrounding Ryan’s death.

Anyone with information on sightings or dealings with him between Wednesday, May 13 and Monday May 18 should come forward.

Cleveland Police officers were first called to a report of a man’s body in the area 4.50pm on Monday, where officers taped off parts of a path which connects Wiltshire Way with Grayfields.
