DRUGS stolen during a break-in at a vets are only suitable for animals and must not be taken by people, police have warned.
Durham police have urged anyone who hears of someone trying to sell the drugs not to be tempted to take any but to report the matter immediately.
The drugs were stolen from Old Stone Vets, at The Durham Dales Centre, in Stanhope, overnight between September 29 and 30.
The thieves smashed a window to gain entry to the building and the vet was unable to attend calls the morning after due to the loss of stolen items.
A spokesperson for Crook police said: "These drugs are only to be administrated to animals and not for persons.
"If you know anyone who may be trying to sell or in possession theses type of drugs please contact ourselves on 101 quoting reference number DHM-30092018-0157."
