THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was assaulted in Darlington on Tuesday.
The victim was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital and is currently receiving treatment in for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Powlett Street was cordoned off throughout the day whilst police and forensics teams carried out an investigation.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: “Following an incident on Powlett Street, Darlington, yesterday (Tuesday), three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
“They are a 37-year-old man, a 27-year-old man, and a 24-year-old woman.
“They are currently in custody and inquiries are ongoing.
“The victim is currently receiving treatment for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.”
