A NORTH-EAST television star has faced down a troll who questioned her academic reputation.

As teenagers across the country received their GCSE results, Scarlett Moffatt joked on Twitter that anyone worried should remember that US rapper Pitbull “rhymed Kodak with Kodak and he is a millionaire”.

One follower hit out at the I’m A Celebrity champion and former Gogglebox star from Bishop Auckland, labelling her “brain dead”.

Joshua Hodges (@OfficialJoshyH) wrote: “And remember Scarlett Moffat made money by watching tv on tv. Anyone can be successful no matter how brain dead.”

But Moffatt silenced the troll, writing: “I have 13 A*-C GCSEs, 3 A levels and a 2:1 bachelors degree mate. But if you work hard & be kind you can achieve anything.”

Fan @Kirsty Bright (@Kirstybright5)backed the star, writing: “Yessss Scarlett!!. Set them straight, why do people feel the need to have a go for no reason? Oh yeah jealously.”
