The trial at Dursand Quarry above Stanhope, attracted more than 70 entries with four courses on offer, each with 10 sections.

SKIPTON Bultaco rider James Moorhouse won the annual Blue Bar Trophy Trial on Sunday from Summerbridge Sherco rider, and MRS Sherco employee Phillip Hammond who finished the dramatic two-day event in Coverdale one penalty ahead of Braidley farmer Stephen Lambert.

DOUGIE LAMPKIN made it eight victories in the Scottish Six Days Trial after a week battling with 250 other contenders and six days of heavy rain. The 38-year-old Silsden professional rider was never headed from MondayCookridge international James Dabill piled on the pressure but Lampkin just stuck to his task to win be a margin of eight penalties.

FOR a second successive year, County Durham rally driver Stephen Petch emerged victorious from his local event when he retained his SG Petch-supported Tour of Hamsterley title despite the murky conditions last Saturday Driving the SGP Motorsport Ford Focus WRC he was sharing with Crook co-driver Michael Wilkinson, the pair emerged at the National Railway Museum, at Shildon, finishing more than one-and-ahalf minutes ahead of Teesside’s Peter Stephenson and his co-driver Ian Windress, from Northallerton, in their Able UK backed Ford Focus WRC.
